Be More

In four days I’ve witnessed four examples of how good people do things that demonstrate that side of us that says “I don’t deserve it, I’m not worth it or I’ll stay in this to help,” even when it costs them. We have our reasons and sometimes those reasons appear noble, decent, generous, justified; and yet, more often than not, they are costly both personally and professionally. The costs show up in loss of time, energy, confidence, esteem, finances, health and the list goes on.
I’m no stranger to this phenomenon and like others, I know this because it bites back when we feel resentment, frustration, confusion and less of who we are. We ultimately sacrifice our own progress!
I don’t want this and equally I don’t want this for those I coach or associate with. Without progress we don’t get the things we deserve and I believe that each of us is more than what we think we are. I don’t mean this in an arrogant way, but rather as a statement of living into one’s capacity to be the best of who you are and desire to be so you can live life fully and achieve what it that has meaning for you!
Too many times we place restrictions on ourselves that weren’t even there to begin with. We manifest a lot of our own misfortune, simply by not asking or investing in ourselves. As Debra Condren, writes in her book Ambition Is Not a Dirty Word, Rule #4: Make ‘Em Pay and Rule #5: Be More Irresponsible to Others and More Responsible to Yourself, she describes how our cumulative actions and decisions can either bring about great success or cost us big time! So for the sake of progress and to achieve all that you desire, PLEASE DON’T stand in your own way- DO STEP UP and take action and total care for yourself. Evaluate your reasoning, question: “Is it faulty in someway? Is there a secondary gain? Is it coming from a place of integrity?
